Ontario COVID-19 vaccine

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign is underway in Ontario and follows the recommendations of the Advisory Committee for Ontario’s Immunization System.

Booking a COVID-19 vaccine appointment


A three-phase vaccine plan prioritizing those at greater risk has been implemented. Only those in the currently eligible groups may get the vaccine. To find out if you or someone else is eligible, visit the Ontario Government website regularly.
You must schedule an appointment to get the COVID-19 vaccine. You may do so at a pharmacy or via the Ontario Government website.

Remember: As long as a sufficiently large part of the population has not been vaccinated, we will have to continue to follow the health measures in place (wearing masks, washing hands, physical distancing, restrictions related to gatherings, etc.).

Will I be covered for COVID-19 while travelling if I haven’t received the vaccine?

Yes. Travel insurance covers COVID-19 even if you didn’t receive the COVID-19 vaccine, as long as you meet the pre-existing condition requirements. In accordance with health authority guidelines, we strongly recommend that you avoid all non-essential travel outside your province of residence until further notice.

Does travel insurance cover the COVID-19 vaccine?

No. Preventive care services such as vaccines are not covered by travel insurance. It only covers urgent medical care required following an accident or sudden illness. Does travel insurance cover the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine?

Yes. Urgent care necessary to treat the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine are covered, as long as you meet the pre-existing condition requirements.
